Thumbs up

Hi - it's my first post on this forum. Lots of useful information around here, thanks guys!

Let me start with this question:
My E60 has no Bluetooth.
What is has is Professional Navigation, iDrive, etc.. it also has a "0609" unit which I don't really know but it's some kind of central device for entertainment. This is where everything connects to, according to dealer.

Point is, I asked them if they could install a factory bluetooth kit because I really like the way it integrates into iDrive and the big screen. Of course I could get an aftermarket kit (like I did on my previous E46) but that's nasty.
And he said he checked and it's not possible, they cannot do it.

I really want this thing so any input from you guys is appreciated..

thanks

Greg

Without additional details about your car (like production date, etc.), there is possibly three ways to get Bluetooth integrated into your car. The first way would be a software only upgrade, the second would be to have a new TCU installed (expensive), and the third would be to get a BTUM installed (less expensive than a new TCU).

The BTUM is a Bluetooth Telephone Upgrade Module and is installed in place of the CPT9000 (hard wired) telephone.

Do a search on these forums for more information about the BTUM and see if that helps you out.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the tips.
I'm afraid it will be the most expensive, new TCU option as the car does not have a wired telephone either. Going to the dealer tomorrow anyway (to have ipod control installed) so I will ask about BT again.

Greg

@Maciek: how much did your dealer charge for BT? Did you have a wired telephone before?
