Need T68 help

I have a motorola v551 that works fine with BT but I don't really care for the phone. I prefer my SonyEricsson t68 which is also on the BWM approved list.
So I can pair the phone and the signal icon in Idrive is the phone strength not radio. Tha phone shows up under the paired deviced. The car shows up on the phone's device list. The problem is I-drive still says please activate phone. I have tried putting the phone in different profile, hands free, car etc. wiht no change in reaults.
Does anyone have any experice with a T68. Any suggestions appreciated.

Are you with Cingular? The T68 is supposed to be fully supported through Cingular, but not necessarily through other carriers. All carriers don't get the same software for the same phones.

It was an AT&T that I had unlocked and now use a Cingular SIM.

[/quote]Is the phone software stored in the phone or on the SIM? If in the phone, then maybe you have old software. But, I don't know how these things work with phones/SIMs. Wish I could help better.
