I tried pairing my N97 to my E60 (2006 Build). it connects and disconnects frequently. And the Phonebook doesnt transfer.
It was a problem which I had on my N95 but a firmware upgrade on N95 fixed it.
Aint sure if Nokia is going to fix the bluetooth stack on the N97.
Does anyone here hava a fix on this ? the dealers in my area won't upgrade my CIP because the N97 is not a "Supported phone"

Here?s a listing of N97 latest (v1.1) firmware fixes from the GSM Arena site ? no mention specifically of Bluetooth issues, but it may have been fixed here, try maybe???????

Doesn't help to know now however Nokia smart-phones are among the worst brands with these types of unstable Bluetooth problems ? I?m not surprised at all that you guys are having these issues especially with a new handset model ? hope the update works for you????????????.

I have no problem's with my N96 other than not being able to transfer my address book,i've just purchased an N97 so will get it in a few day's and report back.
Something crashes most probably on phone side.
Guys!
Forget Nokias on Symbian working correctly with E60 handsfree.
Frequent disconnects can be solved by turning off the automatic sync in N95 so i guess it would work also but then you loose the ability to automatically sync your calendar, contacts or mail.
The phonebook will not work either. I assume there will be NO FIX for this because there was no fix for N95, N96, E51 and other Nokia's I used. Nokia just does not care about this.
If you want to have a good, working handsfree you must change either the car, the handsfree system (dension has one integrated with the iPod interface) or the phone.
I would suggest switching the phone to Android platform phone or the iPhone.

The problem lies actually in car (motorola bt kit?)... now, they seemed to fix the bug in BT kit 2007 ->, can someone confirm that N95-N97 works on after 2007 built BMW's.
Nokia (New symbian S60) is just so clever, that it tries to use newer advanced BT techniques with the car... Car responses, I'm supporting it. Phone then moves to use this "protocol" -> Car's BT kit stops responding.

Let's 'assume' this kind of scenario...

- first time pairing, after phone book is transfered, with the car engine running, switch off the phone for a few minutes, then switch on again
- if there are any updates to the phone book, delete the phone from idrive and do the above pairing again, otherwise there might be random disconnects during calls.
Hope this helps.
