Hello,
I am trying to figure this out for my buddy. He has a 530i and just bought a nextel motorola i870, I have searched the forums and only found people saying that the phone works with BMW's blue tooth, but you cannot add favorites/addresses.
We took the cars menu to communications and phone, and it says please activate the phone. We go to the phone menu and go into blue tooth, and it doesn't find anything. What are we doing wrong and how does this work. Sorry I am a BMW/blue tooth newb.
Are the cradles required? He even did an SOS call from the car, and the lady hooked us up with someone in Customer service, but they said the phone is not "recommended" or what ever by BMW, but I figured there was still a possibility it might work. I read on here that at least some of the features can be made to work. I believe he has the '05 model....he bought it new a couple of months ago.
Anyone that could give me any insight or walk me through the process, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

your in the wrong menu.In the first menu you got to push down and go to comunications settings and look for bluetooth and chk it off and there is a page in the same menu that says (you can connectt here) it should be self explanitory from there

Do you mean the menu in the phone or car? I think you mean the car. Thanks. I will go see what I can figure out.
