I just ordered a 2012 F-10 and got this Verizon phone to be ready for it. The Bluetooth Profiles include Message Access Profile, a Bluetooth profile (mode) for relaying messaging info.

A typical use case for the MAP Bluetooth profile involves a phone and a car. When a phone supporting MAP is paired with a car supporting MAP, incoming messages can be displayed on the car's dashboard and/or read aloud by the car's computerized voice.

BLUETOOTH® TECHNOLOGY
Stereo Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR (support profiles A2DP, AVRCP, GAP, GAVDP, GOEP, HFP, HID, HSP, MAP, OPP, PAN, PBAP, SPP)

Anybody try one yet?

Update: Bionic only reads your text messages on the I-Drive. If you do have MS Exchange as your mail service, you can configure it to send these notifications to the car, via SMS:

When you set up your mobile phone for Exchange, you can choose to synchronize some or all of the following types of information:

E-mail messages You can synchronize e-mail messages in all your mail folders.
Voice mail messages Voice mail messages are synchronized to your Inbox.
Calendar data You can view and add appointments to your calendar.
Contacts data You can access your contacts on your mobile phone and place telephone calls to these contacts.
Tasks data You can view and edit Tasks stored in your mailbox.

Here is the link. It does work with Android. http://help.outlook.com/en-US/140/ms...bilePhone.aspx

The Verizon Droid Bionic is a Smartphone released by Verizon and Motorola. It is said to be the best competitor of one of the popular phones in the market like the Apple iPhone. The advantage of this phone among the other Smartphones is the use of the Verizon network.battery for htc wildfire s

The Droid RAZR supports full download email on the iDrive, making it great for Office Connect.
