As the title suggests, is there a connector to attach my cellphone to the glovebox flashlight port for purposes of recharging? Also, is there in an inexpensive (non-Verizon) way to attach the phone to my USB port on the computer and download music?

There is a flashlight-to-cig-lighter socket adapter available. That might be an option. The more expensive but maybe better solution would be to use the cradle and that way you'll have a cleaner install and utilize your external antenna.

As for the file transfer, have you tried using a USB cable? I'm not sure if it will work on the verizon phones without the MPT disk but it's worth a try.
