Hi, my name is Peter, I am from Holland.
I recently bought a E61 5-2004 without a carkit in it.
I now want to install a mObridge MOST iPod/Bluetooth integration kit but cannot find any pictures on how to do this in a E60 or E61. Can anyone help me?
What I am looking for is a step by step explanation on how to take of the interior trim and the radio in order to replace my dealer-installed BMW iPod kit with the mObridge kit.
Any help would be welcome!

Replacement was very easy, all I had to do was remove the dealer installed iPod adapter and replace it with the mObridge unit.
In order to get it running I had to switch 2 contacts (earth and constant 12V).
The only thing I had to remove was the glove compartiment.
Now I have to get the dealer to activate the BT in the iDrive system. I have an appointment for this on the 27th July.
Dealers here in Holland do not seem to have problems regarding to activating the BT in the iDrive. They only told me that it might be possible that the activating process might not work!
Has anyone got tips/tricks we can keep in mind when activating the unit?

First impressions of the iPod part of the mObridge:
- Very fast compared to the BMW adapter.
- Layout playlists like in iTunes.
- iPhone 3G battery charging possible.
- Firmware easy updatable.
I realy hope the BT enabling will work next week, the mObridge seems to be a very good after market solution for iPod and BT untill now.
If it realy works we will probably start with importing them in The Netherlands!

First attempt at the dealer did not result in a working Bluetooth function.
The BMW diagnosis system seems to be very precise, if the item numbers don't match the will cancel updating, that's what happened.
I am now looking for a technical workshop that uses the Autologic diagnosis system. In this system they added a special BMW mObridge iBlue activation program. If anyone knows a workshop that uses this system in The Netherlands, please let me know!
I will keep you posted on the progress!

Latest update, I found the Dutch Autologic distributor and made an appointment with him for next week.
We are going to look at options how to supply mObridge units for the Dutch market in a co-operation with them so we can offer the unit including activation!
I will keep you all informed! mObridge is comming closer to the Dutch market as we post!

Update:
Today we (Autologic supplier for The Netherlands and I) activated the mObridge in the E61.
It works, but unformtunately there is no sound in the car, I cannot hear the caller.
The caller on the other hand can hear met perfectly!
Controlling the phone bij iDrive works flawlessly and we noticed that the mObridge connects to the iPhone very fast! Syncing the phonebook works fine and its great to be able to access the phonebook by alphabet!
Anyone got any ideas?

Probably the CCC has a programming error due to an aborted update at the dealer.
We are going to have to update the CCC with a loose CCC attached to the car.
This problem does not have a direct combination with the mObridge unit, you can also encounter the problem when installing the Dension as the retrofitting procedure is the same.
My experience untill now is that the mObridge manufaturer has a good after sales service. That is very important for me!
Advantage of the mObridge is that it is an all in one sollution, no loose BT adapter like the GW500.
Good luck and let us know what decission you made.
Regards,
Peter
