What causes the loss of pairing? Happens with E60 and E90. I read thru past threads and could not see direct reference to this issue.

Phones are RAZRs

I had this issue with the my Samsung A900 phone and could never resolve it. Have since switched to a RAZR V3 which works perfectly. Which versions of the RAZR do you have? Have you tried updating the phone's software?

ks, mine is a V3.

It never entered my mind that it might be the phone. [I wonder if there's a moto forum]

I never was aware of a software upgrade for the phone. I will cruise the moto site for it.

Thanks for the tip.

You can do it from the phone. Can't recall the exact menu, but under the settings menu there should be an option to update phone software. No need to log onto the moto site, it will down load over the cell signal...

Found it Settings > Phone Status > Software Update ... It said my software was Up To Date.

I frequently upload address book entries to the phone. Would that effect pairing the next time?

Oh Oh, I just found my RAZR manual. Maybe I should read it. Will see if any pairing troubleshooting.

I never had that issue with a RAZR with either the '06 650i or the '08 550i. With a Palm Treo, I have to re-pair it about every other week. It seemed related to low phone battery conditions but has happened other times. Most times, I turn bluetooth back on and the car soon finds the phone.

No, the updated address book might take a little time to load, but pairing should happen quickly. Mine pairs without failure though as Richard points out, I keep my battery well charged. Does your phone battery get really low on occasion?

I rarely run the battery flat out, but perhaps this is a clue. I have had the phone for near two years.

You guys seem to be ruling out the E60 Bluetooh??

Not at all, but the phone is the easiest place to start. You are not switching keys are you? I believe that if you pair a phone on one key then use the other, you will have to re-pair for that key. I doubt this is your issue, but just a thought.

BINGO!

I do indeed use both keys. I will test that.

Stay tuned.
