I am unable to establish contact between the Siemens S55 and the phone system of our E60.. the system has been working perfectly, until all of a sudden the car seems unable to recognize the phone/locate it automatically.. Any ideas?

Stopping by the dealer on monday.

Thumbs up

No idea why it did that. Have you tried paring again, it only takes seconds.

I still have a problem pairing my sony ericsson with the car, it worked with other E60s but mine has a built in BMW phone and that is taking over the bluetooth.

I could try pairing - but the car doesn't give out the passkey as a part of its device name..

I read somewhere else that the dealer provides a card with the passkey. If they don't provide any just enter matching keys in both the car and phone
The pass key I have is nothing but the last 5 digits of the chasi number. I have done it with 4 different cars for now and it all give out names like I have posted in the PDF file.

What do you get when you search for devices?

The car is named "BMW MULF" when I search for it.

It seems the car's device number/address or whatever has changed.

That is funny, I suggest that you try using the last 5 digists of your chasi number.
if you chasi ends with .......B100525 then your passkey is 00525. The most important thing is that you enter matching passkeys in the both devices.

If that does not work try checking with the dealer.

Had the same problem some time again... originally the car showed up on the phone as BMW +last for didgits from VIN now shows up as BMW MULF. Had to re pair the phone with car. Just ask phone to search for devices and I-Drive will ask you for passkey.... enter any numers you like and phone will then ask you for the passkey... enter same numbers and you are done!!

Yes, pairing them worked out fine as soon as I got the correct key.

Adding to state; ensure your phone is set to auto-connect to paired BT devices... some phones don't always ask to connect to another BT device and this can hose connecting the BMW BT to a phone. Always ensure that you are NOT looking at the value that sets how bluetooth headset/handsfree initiates. This should be kept to "Always connected" Not to "Auto". The BMW BT needs to be connected to the phone always to use I-Drive or steering control dialing.

Also after pairing, don't continue to drive... Turn the car off, key out. Key back in car on. It should connect to the phone
