Treo 650 (Cingular/ATT) and only basic functions work. Contacts will not transfer - have to manually dial the phone then bluetooth cuts in and connects the call. Does save numbers on the missed calls, etc. lists that I can dial directly...but no go for the "ABC" address book.

Dumb question probably....but I'm so desperate, I'd manually enter my top 20 contacts (into the BMW via the painstakingly slow I-drive method) if I knew how and that the numbers would be saved...any advice

I just purchased a Treo 755P. It works fine in the 550i. The contacts do not transfer but you can set up favorites. They transfer to the iDrive interface just fine. If the Treo 650 is like the 755P, pull up the menu item "edit favorites pages", select a location, select "speed dial" and "lookup" the contact to add as a favorite. I can add about 50 favorites. This sounds like extra work but the nice thing with favorites is I have 200+ contacts but only a handful I call on a regular basis.

Richard and 737flyer - THANKS!! I had never used the "Favorites" functions before and will try setting those numbers up! I have about 200 numbers in the contacts directory. Now to find the Treo OM

My Ride: Living in Germany as an expat, this is the perfect opportunity to own the car of my dreams. I bought a new BMW E560 Individual in April 2007 and I have been in love with my M5 ever since! Where else can you experience the acceleration, speed and fabulous performance of this wonderful German engineering, but on the German Autobahns (almost with immunity for high speed as long as you slow down when there are limits). Fastest so far has been 293kmph (183 mph) but my M5 has much more left...I will get it to the limit of 330kmph (205mph) or more yet! Problem is it makes me want to drive everywhere possible at any oppotunity and I am rackng up the kilometers!

I have four phones paired to my BMW M5. Why do I have four phones paired with M5? A Palm Treo 650 (for Corporate push e-mail); Motorola V3 installed in console snap-in (The V3 is just in case I go out and forget to take my Treo and/or iPhone); a new iPhone (because I own one for the technology and my company is testing a killer app for iPhone we have developed) and my wife's Nokia E60 (in case she drives my car and has her phone).

So I know from experience all these phones work extremely well with BMW E60.
