welcome aboard, digispy !? i personally think you should go with the '06 530 or 550.? but if the price for '05 is too good to resist, nothing wrong with it .

Price was way too good... Saving $25/month and getting a new car with full maint and warranty... My 2000 528i is out of warranty. I dont want to keep the risk of repair.

Not actually a lease... In Chicago we have a 6% monthly lease tax, so the dealers offer a 3 yr Balloon Buy program, which is similiar to a lease, but we dont get hit with the 6% monthly tax. You make 36 payments and then have a 37th payment for the residual balloon payment. If you do not want to pay the Balloon payment and buy the car, you pay a $350 deposition fee and give back the car.

My terms are 62% residual with 12k miles yr for 3 years, and a 3.9% finance charge. Zero down and even swap on the trade-in. New 2005 530i has Nav, steptronic, CW, PP, Xenon, Sat radio for a MSRP of around 53k. Also getting around 4k of dealer buydown (half towards trade-in and half towards lower selling price) because they want to move the 2005's before the early release of the 2006's in 2-3 months. My monthly payment on the new 2005 will be $716.69/month, including taxes.

The expected monthly payment if I waited for the 2006 with exact same options should be around $780/month. The problem is that the finance charge will jump higher by probably at least 1.4% and the residual probably wont change too much for the better. They wont even know the exact number for these 2 important terms for at least a month. Lastly, they wont give me the full $4k dealer buydown. Probably only $2k on the price. Demand is high already for the 2006.

Welcome DigiSpy!

I went with this exact program you described - really unbelievable. But I think I got a better deal on my 530i. I have the same options, minus NAV and my payments are $660 per month. That was the deal maker for me.

I may actually but the car at the baloon rate, not sure yet. May want to upgrade in 35 months. (30 months actually, now!)

Thanks for the welcome....

Yeah the NAV will add about $50 onto the payment. For 3 year deals, expect monthly's to change $30/hour up or down for each $1000 in cost added or down paid to drop the payment. NAV is $1,800 i believe for $50-55 difference... Sounds like we both got pretty good deals

Looking forward to inspecting mine tomorrow or tuesday at the latest, and if it looks good, then I'll have it that day...

FYI - I got a printout of all the phones and carriers from the dealer... I hope more phones work than just these. The Net Net is the following for those still following this thread...

"Recommended"

RAZR V3 - Cingular
Motorola V600 - Cingular, T-mobile
Motorola V710 - Verizon (Need sw upgrade first to make it work though
Sony Ericsson T637 - Cingular
Motorola V551 & V535 - Cingular, T-mobile

"UNDER EVAL - NOT RECOMMENDED YET"

Siemens S66 - Cingular (Only for produced 3/05 or later cars)

"DISCONTINUED PHONES THAT WORK"

Sony Ericsson T610/T616 - CIngular, T-mobile
Siemens S56 - Cingular
Sony Ericsson - T68/T68i - Cingular, T-mobile
Sony Ericsson - T608 - SprintPCS

Thats the whole list the dealer gave me..... Unfortunately the document from BMWNA is dated ver 1.4, 02-17-04 with a copyright of 2005.

The Treo 650 works great, and it is by far the best phone I have owned. You get the palm usage with the phone.

Does the Treo 650 work lilke a Blackberry for email? Also, is the Treo 650 available from Sprint? Is there a BMW E60 snap-in adapter for it?

Thanks!

The V620 and V635 both work with the e60 and fit the v600 cradle.

Unfortunately, I think the 620 and 635 are not offered in the USA (I am in Chicago)... I do believe the V551 is and it uses the same connector/cradle that the v600 does...

And now I am looking at Cingular/ATT instead of T-mobile... I heard T-mobile's network sucks. I just wish I could keep my new Sanyo VM4500 SprintPCS phone. Its awesome on all fronts, but unfortunately has no Bluetooth.

I wonder if I bought one of the Jabra Bluetooth Adapters for non-bluetooth phones it could work with my soon to be new 2005 530i with NAV???? Anyone know if the Jabra Bluetooth adapter for non-bluetooth phones has Object support?
