I own a Dec 2004 E 60 2.2.

It seems that if you turn off the Wifi om the Iphone , the pairing will tend to succeed, but...

I did the same , it paired and the Iphone worked well.
After getting out of the car to make a visit and getting in again ( start engine etc) the Iphone did not pair or work anymore !
It is frustrating buying such an expensive gadget and not being able to use it in your even more expensive car ;-))

Any tips on this one ? My Iphone is a software 1.1.1. version.

No problems with my Nokia 6300 pairing with the Bluetooth btw.

Thanks in advance !
Anil

I always turn off the bluetooth when I get out from the car. Back to the car, start engine and turn bluetooth on the iPhone again. It works fine. Mine is 1.1.1 version too...

I'm driving a 2005 530d, my dealer updated the Idrive software a view weeks ago. I used to had a Blackberry 8820 and a HTC P3300, they both worked fine. I never had troubles with the bluetooth connection, and the addressbook also paired without any problems.

Now having the Iphone, I can establish a bluetooth connection, but the Iphone can not make calls. I can scroll the addressbook, and make a call, but then the bluetooth connection crashes. A friend of mine driving a 2006 320i has exactly the same problems.

Any other people who has experience with pairing the Iphone? I tried both Iphone firmwares 1.0.2 and 1.1.1, they both dont work.

I had similar difficulties with my 2006 530i and my iPhone. Turning off the wi-fi on the iphone caused the problems to go away.

I submitted this as a bug to Apple and got this back in response:
