My Ride: 2005 545i; Auto; Jet Black; Sport Pkg; NAV; Pro Logic 7; Cold weather pkg; heated rear seats;

is there any way to use the iphone ipod feature with the factory adapter? Phone syncs fine but can't play music.

Sounds like you're trying to play music over the Bluetooth connection. Car doesn't do that. You can plug into the iPod connector either in the center console or the glove box, depending on the model year of your car and which option you have.
