I really miss a phone option in the car. Visorcom is not working for me. Since they are opening up the car and coding her anyway, the tv option is only approx. another hour labour. So I'm having it done next week, when the car is booked in for a week anyway to fix all the issues and sneak some new gremlins in there.

My wife thinks I've lost it, but hey, she has a 1-day old X3. It was justified for me to tell her to bugger off.

Total costs estimated GBP 2300 (US 3600?)

After all, FF, it's your baby. Tell your mate it's your SECOND love. You spend a lot of time in it and can afford it, so what the hay. I voted with you.

it all depends on how long you are planning to keep the car and how often you use the tv. i wouldn't mind to add them on if i keep it for more than 3 years and watch tv at least once a day in the car .

That's the thing, I have no idea. The bluetooth is representing the bulk of the cost, I'm only getting the tv cause it is not that much more expensive to add.

I do use the phone a lot, and the link that Iceman sent me for the company that unlocks the tv while driving looks promising. Apparantly they cracked it on the 7 series.

It's a lot of money to invest for a carphone.. I think I would get a Nokia fixed carphone instead in that way it will only cost you around 500 euros.

Two problems:

1 BMW won't fit it, so some audio monkey is going to drill holes in my car. With the current problems I do not want to give BMW an excuse not to fixeverything..

2 I like the slick look of the interiour. The car doesn't need anymore buttons.

3 (OK, I lied) I want it integrated in I Drive.

It seems that the longer this poll runs, the more people vote against..

how long did you keep your last car? i wouldn't do anything if you are one of those guys who like to change cars every 2-3 years or even less .

The last car I had for about a year and a half. It was a company car and after 5 months somebody found out I wasn't working for the company anymore but still had the car.!

The one before lasted three years I think.

The thing is, it all depends on the financial situation. If things go really bad I?ll have to sell it, if it goes really well I buy something nicer. If things stay more or less the ame I keep it for a while.
It is not good for business to stand still though.

Plus the fact that I do high mileage, about 1,000 / 1,100 miles per week. That means the car will be through after a few years, but I have used it..

Choices, choices..

so it's hard to make a choice . can you live w/just a bluetooth headset? if so, it'll definitely save you a lot of money.
