Although I was somewhat skeptical before purchasing my Xda IIs (=Qtek 9090/iMate PDA 2k/MDA III) whether it would work with the Bluetooth handsfree kit in my BMW 525d I managed to get it working! Sofar the only PDA Phone that works with BMW Bleutooth was the Treo 650.

The only difference in use with my Nokia 6310i is that the phonebook does not synchronize withthe car but that is not so bad because you can use the display of the Xda IIs to search your contacts or dial numbers. Dialing numbers through iDrive also works.

I have a Brodit 978612 holder that charges the Xda IIs and the display of the Xda IIs is easy to see. The only drawback is that you do not have an external antenna.

I did install the latest Bluetooth software (v3900) in my Xda IIs before trying it out.

Not sure if you will find the same thing but it took a day or two before the phonebook on my Motorola V551 synced with the car. For the first couple of days I could make and receive calls but the phonebook would not upload, then after a day or two it did sync and has been fine ever since.

I suggest you install the latest BT software. One thing I found out is that you have to enable the handsfree/headset in Phone Preferences before trying to pair.

You need to drive around more then an hour to 2 hours for the full phone book to upload. I ahve a Sony and it uploads 220 numbers quick, but the first upload took over an hour.
