When talking at a normal volume and facing straight ahead, I've been told that I am quiet. I basically have to aim my voice at the mic and talk loudly. Had the car back to the dealer but they said all is ok. I've tried different manufacturers handsets just in case, but no change (not that I'd expect it via bluetooth).

Am I resigned to loud talking ?!

Thanks.

Ian.

Don't be shy ! I know I'm not the only one with Bluetooth...

Thanks in anticipation.

I have the same problem.

Most car kit mikes are quite directional, but the BMW on is a bit worse - and I like to sit far back and low.

Only way round it is to concentrate on talking loudly toward the mic.

In my 06 X5 I have that problem where on the other end they telll me it sounds like i'm on speakerphone. But in my 07 E60 they said it sounds better then when i'm using the phone itself (no headset). They couldn't even tell I was using the bluetooth in my car. I thought I read somewhere there's a new mic out but i'm not sure.

I had the new mic installed in my 05 and the dealer told me its was good to go........B.S., its absolutely the same. Nobody hears me clearly, either muffled or extremely low. Yet.... I'm just about screaming inside the car to carry on a conversation.. I have a S/E T637 which paired and transferred the address book perfectly, but the problem is still there. :'(

Maybe you should try pairing with a new car on the lot to see if there's any improvement. If it works, ask the dealer to make your car work like the one you tested it on...

No probs here. Loud and clear.
Using Nokia 6230i -- and Siemens S55 in the past. According to people hearing me, no difference in performance.

Ditto. In fact, with my V3 I'm tod it is clearer when I'm in my car. The only complaint I ever had was one time when I was on a a freeway with the windows down.
