I just picked up my 06 525i and i love it.
One of the features i love most is how esily the car works with my razr, my entire address book automatically loads into my car screen and works perfectly.

My razr contract is coming to an end next week and i was debating on gettign the new blackberry 8700 with tmobile service.
does it work good with the cars bluetooth?
is anyone having problems with the phone not paring up or the address book not loading into the car.

Unless you change the software to some chinese operator's in the Blackberry it will not see the address book but you can dial from the Blackberry and it switches automatically to Bluetooth. There's plenty on this issue on the forum. Do a search on "Blackberry".

I have a corporate Blackberry and dare not screw around with the software.

Since you're with t-mobile does that mean you're in Germany. Can you maybe help me - what is the German voice command to dial the number after dictating the numbers. I've tried anrufen, rufen and they don't work. My I-drive and manual are all in English but for some reason the bluetooth control speaks German and I can't find a list of the commands.

Best Regards

I just saw my friend's Rogers (Canada) 8700 with std device software works with a 07 550 with full address book transfer. When I called rogers tech support, they claim the address book feature shouldn't work. I'll go to a Rogers dealer and try it with my car, if it works, I might get the 8700 ....wait a minute...maybe wait to Pearl to show up here.

Przemek, Yogi: If the BB software (on the handheld, not the server or the PC client) is v 4.1 or higher, the address book can be downloaded. All the 8700 I have seen (we have a few in the company, though I'm still on a 7290) have 4.1.something installed by the vendor

BTW - I have a corporate BB, and I "upgraded" it surreptitiously to 4.1. No issues, and some new features are quite nice.
