Hi Sherif,
I tested as you requested with more than 10 new text messages on my phone when I turned the car on. Seems to work OK. The S700i and iDrive synched nicely (without the SMS function, which I never had to begin with).
Hope that helps.
Jenny

Thanks a million. You have just helped me narrow this down!!!!! To everyone looking at the S700i and K700i, here's my assesment:
1. Both phones have a very similar bluetooth stack.
2. Initial phone release firmware demostrated the connect/disconnet cycle continously.
3. Second phone firmware release around October/November timerframe displayed the SMS issue. Simply put the phone would cycle connect/disconnect when more than 10 SMS's were in the iinbox.
4. Latest phone firmware release around December/January sorted out this completely..
Great news and Thank You Jenny!!!
Best Regards

Unfortunately, the accounts rotate among different offices/groups so that the ideas are fresh. It will be a few more projects before the SE account is back in our office.
The good news is, we have PlayStation Personal.

Jenny,
I've bought an S700i and it works fine. Very happy with it. Today I had the connection / disconnect cycle problem occur again. Started deleting SMS's one by one... Tracked it to one SMS that when deleted sorted it out completely. It was an SMS longer that the standard 160 (long SMS concatenated from several regular SMS's)
Hope this helps all who face similar problem.
Regards
Sherif

Hi Sherif,
How do you like your S700i? I haven't seen any of that model in any store. Did you get it from your phone service provider and who's your provider?
