Hello,
What is the flashing triangle on the I-Drive screen by the reception bars? This happens on occasion. When I remove my phone the triangle goes away. When I put the phone back in it comes back again. I can receive phone calls but can not make them when this happens. I usually have all the reception bars or maybe one or two from max.
I have RTFM but I did not notice anything about a flashing triangle on the I-Drive unless it is for a service related warning, which in this case it is not since there are none and like I said removing the phone from the cradle makes the triangle go away and when I plug it back in it comes back.
Thanks

I think the triangle, flashing or not, in cell phone terms, is when the phone is roaming. Not 100% sure...

I understood the triangle to mean your phone is connected. Then I noticed that when I missed an incoming call once, the triangle changed to a little cellphone-looking icon. I like that symbol better, so now I just never check the missed phone call log on Idrive - once you check that log, the phone icon changes back to a triangle. Who the hell associates a triangle with a phone anyway???. So when I have new passengers in my car, they see the little phone and instantly know that I have the latest in technology!

As Lomag said way back in 2004 (above) the triangle indicates roaming. For some reason, maybe due to signal strength, my phone flips between home and roam quite a bit, even though I'm not leaving a metropolitan area. My car sometimes shows the triangle and sometimes doesn't show anything where the triangle was.
One thing is clear, the little phone icon indicates a missed call.

I've just linked my iPhone 3G to my car when previously I've had a Nokia 6230i linked. With the Nokia I've never seen the triangle (over 3 years), but on one of my journeys with the iPhone linked it appeared. Next time I was in the car in had disappeared again. As I'm in the UK we don't have any roaming here. Any ideas anyone ?

Oh yes, and my triangle isn't flashing in the slightest. Just sat there - very solidly.
