The things that DO work are: making & receiving calls and browsing the address book
3. What firmware you have on phone?
No idea

I've two phones...
1. Nokia 6300
2. No display of network signal strength, no multiple numbers for one contact - just default
3. V 05.00, RM-217
4. 26.01 - E64
1. Nokia E50
2. No display of network signal strength, no phone book, no call waiting display, sometime poor audio
3. v07.13.0.0, 26-04-2007, RM-170
4. 26.01 - E64

My Ride: 525d E60
I connect a 6230i and 6310i
in the center console cradle the 6230i only loads the battery, it still connects through the bluetooth and uses it's own antenna radiating through your elbow.
The 6310 cradle I haven't used but that phone is capable of using an external antenna instead of it's own.
most annoying: no SMS received notification and no call on hold notification (or switching)
bit annoying: after startup, you're in number dialing mode and not the A-Z listing mode
stupid: if you hit the phone button on the steering wheel by accident, it starts calling the last dialled number but does not show this! So you don't know untill you are connected and hear it ring....
irritating: ringing volume adjustment is unclear. and the ringtone is not to my liking.
