I have 2008 528i. My previous phone 8125 worked liked a charm with the hands free configuration. However, my new phone a Samsung Blackjack II has an echo and a ringing sound that I have and the person that I am talking to hears.

Has anybody had this problem and found a solution for it?

Thanks,

I'm having a similar problem (echoing and quite a bit of background noise, similar to having all windows down and sun roof open) when using my Bberry 8700c and my 528i. I have been trying to work with the dealer since November of 2007 and now have been told that perhaps I am just too short (I'm just under 5'4" tall) for the bluetooth to work properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check the OS you are running on your cell phones and check to see if there are any updates. I have read various issues with windows mobile based phones, but few if any with BB devices. GL to the both of you...

not sure if your car is used or new, but try deleting any previous devices paired to your car previously if any, just in case...

Same here, '05 525, BJ II, bluetooth echo from hell. I think it's the samsung implementation of the bluetooth stack, we're all hoping the upcoming WM6.1 update may fix this. In the meantime, the only way to prevent it is to dial from the BJ. For some reason, that stops the echo. If you dial from voice recognition or the idrive, you get echo. BMW service would not even talk about it with me because it's not on the approved list of phones.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I played around with it and discovered the same thing. If I receive a call there is no echo, if I make a call using the phone there is no echo, but if I use Idrive or voice to make a call then I get tons of echo and feedback. It drives me nuts and I hope that the 6.1 update solves this as well.

It looks like we're getting closer to a fix:

The Blackjack II WM 6.1 update is available for downloading. So far so good, no echo when dialing from the idrive.

I'm glad this is fixed. I am planning on getting an iPhone 3g in a few months, but I still can't figure out if:
it charges through the ipod adapter in the glove box
the phone works (handsfree and address book sync) at the same time as the ipod on the idrive.

The BJII is now an approved BMW phone, guess the wm 6.1 ROM update made BMW happy.
