E71 Nokia?

I paired my E71 yesterday morning and spent a day with it. Aside from not being able to sync the phone book at all, the connection was very stable until my phone slid between the center console and the seat, ending up in the back seat. Where do you keep your phone once you pair?
For now, in the little recess in front of the ashtray. I just tried connecting my Samsung SGH-i600 and that too seems inconsistent.
Perhaps the problem lies with the BMW bluetooth module???

i've been eye'in this phone for a possible replacement for my Curve, until the Javelin comes out.
the best price i've seen it for w/o contract is $389 for the grey version. you guys have a less expensive source?

Any of our Euro friends using one yet? Any success with pairing/iDrive?
TIA!
TIA!
As far as pairing to bluetooth in the E60 is concerned ... the phone pairs very reliably (I've found) but I can't get the contacts to sync with my car (UK Sept '03 530d). Not sure what version of iDrive I'm running but it was upgraded about 12 months ago when I had some other work done on the car.
I even tried the Nokia contacts sync program (found elsewhere in this forum) but that didn't work for me either.
I've had to send the contacts I want on the iDrive from the phone manually via bluetooth (i.e. via send business card) ... this had to be done one at a time though, as I couldn't find a way to send multiple business cards from the E71 at once ... not too much of a problem to me as I just sent my key contacts and it only has to be done once.
Otherwise, really happy with the phone, and works fine for making and receiving calls via the bluetooth connection in the car too.

I've had the E71 for a couple of weeks now ... fantastic phone!! ... I had the E61i before, which was good, but the E71 gives you so much more, and in a smaller package. Please note, however, that the camera isn't so great but given that it's a business phone and I don't really need the camera, then I'm more than happy with it.

Once you've sent the business card(s) to the car just turn the car off, wait a few seconds and then turn it on again. Once the phone reconnects the contacts for these business cards should be visible in the a-Z listing in your iDrive (at least, that's how it works with mine).
Good luck!
