I just read and tried to use Lomaq's BT pairing instructions posted last month. My MY04 April build came with a BT passkey card, but I don't find "Communications Settings" when I press on the CID. What does this mean?

It means you need the software upgrade and BT coding done. Your April production car means that you can get this as opposed to the pre 03/04 builds which are unfortunately SOOL

I am scheduled to have the software upgrade that comes with the emissions recall. Will that solve my problem, or is the software needed for BT different?

Just mention that you want BT just incase there is some coding that needs to be done.

It should. Version 13.2 or 13.3 is I believe what is required for the BT in your car. You will get at least that if not ver. 15 w/ the emission recall update.

Should I expect to be charged for the coding?

Certainly not, if they are upgrading your software anyway and re-coding for a recall.
