Hi,

I have my password included in my voicemail number so that I automatically logs me in and plays my messages when I dial it.

*86pp#pXXXX#p1 where XXXX is my password.

This works fine when using the phone alone but when I try to use in via bluetooth in my car it doesn't - I get a message saying something about an unsupported feature.

Does anyone know why this is and is there a way to get it to work?

Wayne

Sounds like a 'timing' issue. The "p" is simply an instruction to the phone to pause before dialing the next set of digits. Sometimes, depending upon the quality of the connection, the pause is not long enough. If your voicemail system is telling you you've selected an unsupported feature, it is likely the "p" after the password (and before the digit "1") is the culprit. (I assume that you've programmed the "1" to select a particular voicemail feature such as "fetch messages") Try adding an additional "p" and see if that does it for you.

I don't think it is a timing issue since that would show up using the phone by its self as well, but I will give it a try.

There is a bug in the software that translates the "p" into a "7" and not a pause.

On my car, there's no way to dial a pause, even if it works perfectly from the phone while undocked.

I assume the same bug exists for a BT paired phone as well...

The BMW software will not accept special characters...so you need to set up a voicemail number in your directory without special characters for use with BT and then enter the password manually with the I-drive controller or phone keypad....kinda sucks. Hopefully a future software revision will fix this.

I have the same problem with my V710, I just hit the speed dial on the V710 and it comes thru on the cars speakers.
