Right,
Please don't point out the fact that I've asked this question a few times, however need help with regards to Bluetooth functionality.
I have a 2004 530iSE with the CPT9000 phone. Registered on th 17th April 2004.
I have the bluetooth option on iDrive and can pair variuos phones via bluetooth. The problem is that once paired, it wont use the phone, it only uses the CPT9000, even if I delete the pairing of the CPT9000 from iDrive. I have reported the issue to BMW who are due to take the car back on the 5th.
They believe that it maybe a faulty part and have dismissed the idea of disabling the CPT9000 forcing the iDrive to use the other paired phone.
Has anyone done this successfully?
I believe it may have had a software upgrade in its past as I have MP3 playing capability through the centre bus nav dvd drive.
This feature is doing my head in! Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure that you can't have both. Either you have the CPT9000 or you have BT. If you're car is trying to support both, it won't work.
Have your dealer open a PuMa case with BMW so they can learn the truth...

Its a sad day. BMW have informed me that the car is not BT compatible. Dispite my best efforts I have decided to give up the dream. Bit strange as the CPT9000 is connected via Bluetooth. I even asked them to disable the cpt9000.. they say it wont make a blind bit of difference. booooo!
Is there any way you can go the BTUM route? Either I'm missing something that's specific to the UK or there's still some confusion on behalf of the parties involved here. Can anyone else in the UK add some details as to what can be done?

What actual phone is used with the CPT9000? In the USA, they used a Motorola V60 style handset which did not include BT functionality. If your CPT9000 is connected via BT as you say, what phone is it using?

I have found out the CIP is 26. or something with explains how my DVD slot plays MP3. BMW have said it doesn't have the necessaries to have BT. I argued the faact that the buid date (April 04) has the BT installed, hence its on I-Drive,however they say it needs a retrofit. At ?2,500 something tells me I aint going to fork out that sort of cash.
I believe the CPT handset is BT as it has the options. I tried disabling the handset, but no cigar.... I think I'm going slightly mad!
