Greeting.

I have a MY05 E83 with BMW professional carphone (no idrive & no nav system)
and got a few question as below about the phone.
1. Bluetooth pairing:
By following the guide from bimmerfest, I can pair my SE T610 to the X3, it does display a device named BMWXXXXX on my T610, but everytime I turned on the BT function and get in the vehicle, no thing happened, the T610 can't be operated through the multi function wheel. I am guessing the bmw phone has the priority to connect the vehicle hands-free system, if somehow the BMW technician can re-sort the priority again by putting my T610 ahead, then i can use the T610 when I bring it into vehicle or use the bmw phone when I don't bring it or just disable the BT, but the service tell it is not possible to do the sorting, I can only use the BMW phone in the vehicle...

any creative ideas ?

2. Voice recognition:
I was told by the dealership that, with BMW professional carphone, My car definitely has the voice control function, which means voice dialing, but I tried some many times to press and hold the little speaking face on the wheel, but no beep sound, it just dial out my last call directly...

does anyone know if the VR module are definitely with bmw professional phone?

many thanks.

Hopefully someone here can provide you with information on your E83 X3 but keep in mind that this is an E60 forum and the two cars couldn't be more different...

Hi, and welcome aboard, iseebi !

The phone professional is actually a built -in phone that you don't see. The handset is actually JUST functioning like a HEADSET. When you try to pair a phone with the car, you are therefore trying to pair two phones. This is not possible. I have the phone pro too, because BT wasn't available as an option when I ordered. I've tried to pair my phone with the car without success.

Hi, Iceman:
Glad to find someone has the pro phone as well, hehe. I understand the headset concept,
but when I tried to pair my T610 to the vehicle by following the step described in attachment, the T610 did found the device named BMWXXXXX, and it asked for the passkey, then I entered the 4 digit number from my passkey card, the the connect was build.
that doesn't means I paired T610 to the vehicle successfully?
BTW, does your pro phone have the voice recognition function?

Yep, I have voice command too.
If I try to pair a phone the best I can do is just what you describe.
But I was never able to get any control through the idrive, nor was I able to use the phone. The device can be found, since they talk the same language, but they don't interact.
