Two easy answers :-

1 : Yes your cars software can be updated, see your local dealer.
2 : The E60 never had bluetooth audio, it has only just been introduced on the F10.

So there is no way to run bluetooth audio in an e60? No aftermarket?

Bluetooth audio is unreal. Running a Pioneer Avic XZ130BT in my dailydriver and it is truely amazing. No cords, just clean clear music through my phone! Love it!

I put the same unit in my wife's E46 and she's in love especially with "jason" (talking navigation) lol
BMW's leave a lot to be desired coming from an "ultimate driving machine" lol
my harmon cardon in another E46 wasn't tooo bad but come on, those days are over.....

Some times ppl expect too much i think. Im quite happy with my ultimate driving machine and it will be where I want it once I finish the USB port retrofit.

Hi

Here in Denmark it is possble to get an aftermarkedt Bluetooth telefon interface with Bluetooth music streaming also , for the E6x models from 07-2003 and on-wards , try and contact Mobilteknink A/S in Glostrup / Denmark , homepage : http://www.mobilteknik.dk/

It comes as an retrofit set , and need no coding , it "code up" itself to M-ASK or CCC after mounting.

I am streaming audio through bluetooth in my 2007 e60. I listen to Pandora and hundreds of other radio online radio stations. The only catch is that it's not wireless, but it still sounds great and I dont have to mess with ipods (even though I have one hooked up in my e60, havent listened to it in ages) or CD's or GOD FORBID ancient FM/AM radio!!!

I'm confused how you stream through bluetooth and its not wireless? btw isn;t the whole point of using bluetooth NOT to use wires ?
