Hi,

I'm new at this forum, but before opening an topic i searched more than one hour using google.. Also looked to many topics on this forum, but can't find my "problem". I recentlly bought an 530d 2004, its a dream come true! Its fully loaded, and also has bluetooth settings in idrive with phone holder (snap-in).

The problem is, i can't activate bleutooth at all. When i go in to settings menu, then to the most bottom option (something like communication), i can see that bleutooth isn't activated. When i click on it, nothing happens at all. Its the option wich should enable it.. Does this mean that i dont have bleutooth module built-in?

Thanks!

Have you activated the bluetooth feature on your phone? You need to launch that feature so the car's software can "listen" for your device.

I do not know to which dealer you are close in the Netherlands, but a nice one can help out for for free
Mine actually gave me a printout of the car's birth certificate that was read from the key/Chassis Number. (Bought the car 2nd hand as well and had no clue on which options where installed).
On that it actually states BT is enabled or not. I think the snap-in can work w/o Bluetooth.

Ar.

So even if you havent got à bleutooth module built-in you would still have the menu option like i do?
Im by the way from Enschede. I could make àn appointment with Smudde but it would help me out if i do have the bleutooth module in my car. Is there àn easy way to check this?

When you get to that screen in the iDrive menu, press down the iDrive knob to check the box and enable your bluetooth!
