Hello all, Im a new owner of a 530. Loving the drive so far but coming from an Audi there are a few things that Im still trying to get used to. Got a few questions please help:
1. Is there a way to program the car so that once the key cartridge is withdrawn from the car all the doors unlock themselves?
2. How does the iDrive perform picking up a call waiting? I have a Motorola Razr and its been very troublesome for me trying to figure it out while driving.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

My Ride: 2006 530xi. Deep green with beige interior. 6 speed manual. Premium package.
1. door locking - no way to change
your only choices are lock the doors after driving or not locking the doors after driving -
but when you stop the doors stay locked - I think it is a safety thing so people can not get in your car when it stops
2.call waiting sound like a busy signal that comes through - I have never answered a call waiting call - I assume if you push the i drive button then you will have the option of answering but I am not sure

Hell of a good question on the call waiting deal, I not sure if I ever received another call while in bluetooth mode. Please post if anyone knows, cause I sure as hell don't.

nubi-mer, welcome!
unfortenatly, you will have to use the actual phone for different functions... call waiting is one and another is switching a call from blue tooth to handset. Good luck!

You have to use your cell phone to switch. I have a problem with call waiting and my razr. If I dont answer the incoming call the car will hang up the call I am on. If I switch over and answer it then go back to the original call it usually hangs up. I took my car in to get the CIP updated to address another blue tooth problem I have. Hopefully it fixes my call waiting problem also. The dealer told me that they will probably need to have the car for 1-2 days to do this. The were going to give me a rental car but I decided to reschedule to get a BMW loaner. I thought the update would take an hour at the most. I guess I was wrong.
