Just for the record, I am not a hater. I love my I-Pod, I think apple makes great products, but I need to provide IT support to the enterprise. My customers want real time functionality and IMAP won't cut the mustard.
give it time, and I'm sure they will come out with some updates based on the feedback. In the mean time, we should all be happy of the its functionality with the iDrive

That requires support for a Bluetooth profile called Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, or A2DP, which neither E60 nor the iPhone supports.

Can the iPhone be used with the iPod interface to listen to music and have it paired via bluetooth (Phone) at the same time?

I'm not sure what you mean by "used with the iPod interface"

I assume he means that he wants to know if the iPhone can be connected to the car via the iPod interface for music (and iDrive control) while the bluetooth connection for the phone is active for the voice calling stuff.

My bet is that they work simultaneously but I'm waiting for someone else to confirm it (I think it's already posted in one of the other hundred iPhone threads created over the last few days... )

Isn't it obvious? I want to connect my iPhone (Which is also an iPod) to my E60 iPod interface and listen to music while I have it paired via BT to use the phone

Yes, thank you Rudy, that is exactly what I meant with my question. So far I have not seen the answer to that one but, isn't that the first thing you would test if you own an E60 with an iPod interface? That would be my first test at least. That is the whole objective of having those two devices (iPod and phone) on the same unit. Perhaps it has already been posted, but as you mentioned, too many threads about this topic right now.

There are tons of those on eBay right now. You should be able to charge it via an USB port in your computer.

ok, so to answer your question: it does work, you can connect your iPhone to the iPod adapter or cable, and pair it with the bluetooth. If you're listening to music and a call comes in, the music fades out and you can answer your call. After you hang up, the music starts to fade in again.

I'm going to update the article on my blog to reflect all these things since a lot of people are asking about this.

I hope this helps
