Called dealer to ask pricing and availability of cpt9000 cell, cradle and all... Says its $850 installed and programmed. However, you will no longer have access to BMW Assist from the SOS/Emergency link button. The dealer explained that the 545's single communication antenna can only be associated with cell or bmw assist. Has anyone heard of this? And what are your thoughts on the usefulness of the phone vs bmw assist? Also, do you think the cost is in line?

Welcome to the forum. The $850 price is less than I paid seven months ago for the phone and install. I am thinking the whole BMW assist story sounds like BS. My understanding, the cell service for your phone is independent from BMW assist. I don't buy off on the either/or story. I know it would come as a SHOCK for the members of this forum to find out a dealer could/would give out wrong information.
