Hey Guys,

For those curious ... I got pricing on the parts from Garry @ BMW of Newport, RI who is offering 25% off (sometimes even more) in our Parts & Accessories sub-forum (http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=18067). The results are:

The bluetooth module is $221.25 vs. the $295 MSRP plus shipping of around $10 (part num: 84110410145).

For those who still need the CPT9000 eject box and support frame they are $97.50 for the eject box (part num: 84116946537) and $18.20 for the support frame (part num: 51167060175) both over 30% off list price.

Vaheh @ Crevier quoted similiar pricing, a little higher by around 10 bucks so no real difference except for me personally, ordering from an east coast dealer provides quicker ground shipping. Check out the thread above to contact Garry or you can email Vaheh if your on the west coast at vbashikian@crevierbmw.com.
Lomag,

WOW!! That is a great price... what is the availability on the bluetooth module from your dealer? My local dealer told me MSRP $295 and he said he will order today 2/6/06 and he said I should get it by Wed. 2/8/06. I thought it was pretty fast because I thought it was on backorder. If I get it in 2 days I will be one happy camper.

Acctually I was told it was available too but I found out today that it's not -- well it is available, as in the parts are here in the U.S. already, however BMW has not officially released it for sale yet. Apparently they're waiting on some final install instructions from the engineers or something. It might require extra programming. I'm sure we'll find out soon!

I just got back from dropping my car at the dealer. Just found out that my car was actually born 2/04 rather than 3/04 I was going to activate bluetooth and realize it's now not possible. The service rep did tell me about this new bluetooth module and with the pricing you've found - i'm interested.

Anyone find if this new bluetooth module will also sync with (i realize it's not on supported list) BB7100t w/ 4.1 software? Maybe to early to tell but, if anyone finds out, please post, thanks!

Well , well, well ...

It would appear that rumors of BMW actually dealing with the Bluetooth fiasco may be true !!!

Supposedly, I've got one of these in the mail. We'll see ... I have heard of backorder issues but none regarding programming and delayed release. However, I'll bet on Mark over the dealership parts advisors anyday !!! I haven't been holding my breath for the past almost 2 1/2 years, so I guess I can wait a short while more.

Won't be happy if it's delayed until October when I ditch these wheels for something new ... If those Iranians and Venezualan's don't spark a mega-spike in barrel costs I might be ready to move to the M5 board.

Haha.. Gizmo you still around? Yeah it's a miracle that BMW/Motorola finally thought of something. It's a pretty smart idea -- this bluetooth cpt9000 emulator -- kudos to the engineers who thought of it.

My module came in today along with the CPT9000 eject box. I'll get to that install this weekend, have it programmed next week and hopefully be bluetooth enabled by weeks end! Now I need to get a bluetooth enabled phone. I've been meaning to get a new phone for ages.. my current phone is probably over 2 years old so its about time for that too.

The BTUM is just plug and play. The passcode that you must use is written on the bottom of the BTUM on the label.

So far so good!
