Beewang has confirmed to me that his car does not, I repeat DOES NOT have the BT capability yet. We are hoping that VPC would install it once the car gets back to US. We'll keep praying in the mean time.

Hello everybody. I am new to this forum.
This topic is also very important to me. I spoke numerous times to BMW representatives, but they have no clue when this going to be available in U.S.
That is why I decided to go other direction.
I would like to ask if anyone knows if It is possible to buy a Bluetooth from Germany and install it to my new BMW 545I, 2004.
Please let me know if this would be possible.
Thank you.

My dealer, confirmed that my 2005 530i, non-nav, non-sat radio has blue tooth as standard equipment. However, because I have no way of knowing yet without a phone, I can't be certain they aren't just reading that off of a piece of paper.

However, this month (finally) Sprint is releasing a new bluetooth phone, which I plan to buy and if I drop the money on it and the car is not enabled, I'll be sending the bill to the dealer.

The problem is not the part from Germany, but the incompatibility with assist. The route to follow if they don't get their !@#$%^ together by January is to have them replace the Assist module with one that supports BT. This can be done supposedly if you sign something that says you know that Assist will not work.

My '05 545i is waiting for a boat in Germany. I have had the Bluetooth discussion many times with my dealer. They have been very consistent in saying that all MY '05 E60s will support Bluetooth, but as a dealer-installed option. He didn't have specifics on price or when he will have the kits to do the install.

So, we know BT will be available for MY05, but don't know whether it will be a standard (free), or optional (mucho dinero) equipment.

I was told very clearly that it was not going to be free, but the dealer didn't have specific pricing available.
