I was playing with my mobile (SE P910) and a Bluetooth in my girlfiend E60.

I didn't have much time, so not fully tested; my intention was to test if addressbook could be send to the car.

I sucessfully paired the phone. Then I tried to manually send the address book. It was not possible. It seems to me that the reason was that the phone can not execute two simultaneous services (hands free and object push).

So I stopped bluetooth in the phone, then open addressbook and select "send this folder --> send as bluetooth" (this activates bluetooth in the phone), and... DONE! the addressbook appeared on the i-drive screen.

I couldn't test if phones remained in car memory after that or not...

Further investigation when I receive my car... Still one month to go

Just though this may help someone.

I use a SE P910i and liked the phone alot only to be very disappointed when it does not work with my E60.

It paired alright, but cannot initiate a call nor receive one, unpaired when a call comes in or is being made.

I realised that when a call comes in, the P910i screen has options to either have the call on the phone, transfer to bluetooth or mute and this is when the call gets disconnected and unpaired subsequently.

Just checked SE website http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=glo...ps1_1&pid=10183 and flash upgraded the P910i software to the latest and still no go. The website, through its knowledge base also stated that it should support bluetooth headset profiles but does not guarantee it would be compatible with BMW bluetooth system.

Perhaps we could wait for newer software upgrades but otherwise change the mobile phone, currently I am using the Siemens S65 which paired and work well except that its features are not what one could find on the P910i.

But wait a minute, my P910i paired and was able to answer and make calls after I changed a setting.

Click on the bluetooth icon on the P910i and the Handsfree ? screen pops up; in the Answering mode, change the option to Normal instead of Any Key or After 5 seconds wif Bluetooth set to BMW nnnnn (nnnnn is the 5 unique numbers assigned to your E60 bluetooth system I guess).

And hey presto! It worked. JMB, you might like to try this and let me know please.

Also make sure you upgrade the phone s/w, mine was CXC162042 R3E008 to R4D006 and bluetooth was CXC162028/1 R2C upgraded to R2F.

It definitely did not work in the earlier version.

Disappointment, disappointment, disappointment.

My P910i paired but phone calls dropped intermittently with "Headset connection lost" after a couple of rings; but it worked this morning!!!

Eggs, my Siemens S65 transfer its phonebook without hesistation, everything goes over in a very short time; looks like your phone numbers could be stored in the Addressbook rather than in Phonebook(SIM), otherwise I don't see why they can't sync over.

I shall have to do more experiments with the P910i and by the way, SE K700i is totaqlly incompatible. Will be trying SE T630. I have it around somewhere. Was told by Singtel Hello staff that SE T610 (compatible with E60) is already out of production.

Hmm.. I read somewhere that the K700i will work, provided the SMS messages are cleared first. Something about the message TX clogging up the link.

BTW, how many entries do you have in your S65's SIM card? I've just spent the morning cleaning up my SIM card, now it has only 32 entries, non essential number have been copied to addressbook. Hopefully this will work.

Hi eggz

I had something like 153 entries in the SIM card and ended up deleting those that are duplicated in the Addressbook; now I have much less. Remember to set the default book to Phonebook rather than Addressbook for a quick sync to the b/t system.

Would have to find some time to simulate as to how I got the P910i to work in the morning and not in the afternoon
