Hi All,
I have a 530d and am strongly thinking of getting the bluetooth retrofitted into the car at a cost of EUR 3,600
I have 2 questions about it
(1) Do you know if the Voice Dial feature is standard with the bluetooth kit or is it another extra?
(2) Does it work properly with Nokia N95
Any comments/help much appreciated
Regards
M

(1) Yes the voice dial is a standard feature
(2) Unfortunately N95 will not transfer your phonebook to iDrive, although it will pair. Mobile phones that will transfer phonebook are Motorola Razor (V3, V3i, V3xx, V9), many Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Generally speaking all phones based on Symbian S.O. are not compatibile in phonebook transfer.

Many thanks for the response Ricky. That clears up some issues for me. I also have a K800i Sony Ericsson, perhaps that phone may function better with the car.
Disappointing about the Nokia's...

?3600 - That sounds a bit steep even for Irish prices! (I'm in Dublin). I have a stock phone kit and find it works well - however I have been told by some people that the sound quality from the mic is not as good as it should be (hence my interest in this and similar treads); I have always used Nokia phones (currently 6230i- with vodafone) however I have recently purchased an XDA ( O2 network) and apparently the mic in the car works great with this unit - I have yet to establish if the performance difference is simply due to the different phones. So before you jump and spend alot of money (unless you already have) just remember that you may end up changing you phone just for the sake of better audio- the other treads in this forum mention new microphones but I remain unconvinced. Just for the record I have a 2005 535D that had a software upgrade in 2007. Maybe you will not get the audio problem with the new hardware but for that sort of money if I were in your shoes I would like to be certain.
Good luck

3600?? What the hell? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought several users in this forum retrofitted (=dealer coded the bluetooth option) this bluetooth function for free. New E60s have bluetooth capability built-in and only thing needed is coding?
