Hi all,

I just retrofitted navigation and the CCC comes with Bluetooth option. I was wondering what do I need to get other than the BT module?

TCU?

Thanks if anyone has done any retrofit, please share with me?

Thanks

What year is your car? You should also check the existing TCU in the trunk. You might just need a software update from the dealer.

Hi Xman, Year of car MFG from VIN is Nov 2005. I check the rear left of trunk as we see it and its empty. I don't have L7 either so I have a bunch of wires over there.

Thanks!

So when you open up the left side of your trunk. Do you see this? The TCU is the metal box located closer to the rear seat.

How much does a dealer normally charge to do the software upgrade on a prewired system?

Anything more than $200 is too much. You should get a quote from different dealers and compare.

Hi all, Sorry that I didn't get to respond to this. Was really tied up in the Nagivation retrofit for the past month. And now since I managed to get it to work, its time for the other retrofits.

Regarding that picture above, Nope I don't have both the modules. I have all the FAKRA connections neatly tied up and stuffed away.

And I have been searching on EBAY, those TCU does not come with Pair keys (PK) and from the responses, without PK, that module does NOT have bluetooth function even if it has the BT logo. It doesn't count.

Thanks to feedback your experiences.

I gathered from somewhere that the modules with PK are old ones. The newer ones doesn't come with PK and also PK to pair with the found is to be set dynamically as and when you are pairing. And not strictly the one found on the module itself... Anyone knows ?

Thanks!

I don't believe there is any set PK for pairing. Like you said, it is set dynamically while you're doing the pairing. Thats how I did mine.

Thanks mate. But there are so many TCUs being sold. Some with PK and some without. How do I tell if those can actually pair up with the phone.

I have the prewire in the trunk and such.

Thanks!
