At the moment i think that the BMW bluetooth device and the system navigation are not able to work both at the same time.

You can buy the bluetooth and retrofit in you car. I have a friend that has done it and it's working just fine.

It's a little bit expensive. I bought it from factory when ordering the car, 800 EUR.
The retrofit was around 2.000 EUR.

About your case the NAV working with the bluetooth i think that at the moment it's not possible.

It is possible in europe (and speccable from the factory now) It wasn't speccable when I ordered but I've been quoted over 2000 euros for a retrofit......not worth it so I got a visorcom........do a search on this and you'll find out all about it and its only around 100 euros

I have Navi Prof. and would like a Bluetooth retrofit. It's not possible in Sweden... but I'm still hoping it will come later.

Funny that BMW can't get it working now, when You can buy it on new cars...

I read somewhere that you need to get Option 640 in order for the BT to work.

2 things I heard that i'm not sure:
-BMW ony gives such option as "Factory Fitted" (not sure, someone please confirm this)
-If you can get this option and you are not using the BMW Assistant Module it can be installed as a replacement for BMW assistant.

I know this does not answer any retrofit questions but Option 640 is the key to my problem and yours.
Mine has options 638 (BMW Pro. Phone), I am trying to get option 640. Nothing from the dealer so far.

Please check and let me know if this is doable.

Hi,

I have Option 640 (preparation), but that hasn't helped me on getting a Bluetooth retrofit...

All the best

plindegaard: i'm sorry, but why do you nedd bluetooth retrofit when you already have optoin 640 which will enable you to pair. Im sorry if i'm missing something here but it doesn't make sense. With option 640 you should be able to pair any mobile phone with Bluetooth "Headset" profile
