got my car back a few hours ago.? paid 2 hrs labor, $220, but worth every single penny .? bluetooth rocks ? !? love it !? my phonebook transferred less than 3 minutes, i only have about 100 numbers, though.? every time i turn off the engine, it disconnected right away.? and when i restart the engine again, it paired in a heartbeat.? i made a few calls and the other parties told me my voice is loud and clear without any echo or whatsoever.? but the only problem i have right now is i don't have the bluetooth manual.? i don't know what kind of voice commands i can use.? so far i only know a few commands: dial name, dial number, save name and delete name.? does anyone has the bluetooth manual ?? thank you very much in advance.? btw, i'm still using my old motorola v80.? my main reason for keeping that phone is it can pair with our car without any problem .

Here is the Bluetooth manual.

But I believe all the voice commands are listed in the basic Voice Commands list in our E60.net information section.

Glad it all worked out

Just an observation, I have bluetooth & it works great, also have a phone holder for my Nokia to charge the phone & to use the external antenna. Ok so far. What I find a bit odd is that although the phone is wired into the car, the voice etc still works via bluetooth, eg if bluetooth is switched off on the phone it dosn't work. Is this normal?. Would have thought that the hard wiring would have been used when phone holder installed.

I believe we are only using the power connection for recharge and the antenna connection to the cars' antenna (did not say shark fin as mine is in the trunk lid). I do not believe we use any of the extra connections for any features within the vehicle, although I could be wrong. You must pair up the phone with the car to use a bluetooth phone in or out of cradle. You can pair up to four different bluetooth phones within the car at one time, but they go in a priority scheme. Phone in cradle can be higher or lower in prioity than the others not in a cradle. None of the existing documentation indicates any explicit or different hardwire use of the bluetooth phones when in cradle. The old CPT9000 may have used the hardwired functions.

Congrats on your bluetooth retrofit alohalc.
I was charged by the stealer $149 when I had mine done. I still think that BMW should retrofit for free. Cars with production date as of March/04 already had all the equipment to have bluetooth enabled, it only required software update and activating the component.

my thought exactly . it's like the car comes with cd player but they tell you it's not ready to use. you have to bring it back later to program it but they have to charge you labor. wtf !
