guys, i need your help right away . i dropped off the car yesterday for oil service and other minor stuff. my dealer just called me and said everything is almost done but bluetooth. they said they need to rewire something inside in order to finish the activation and going to charge me about $250. not sure that's just parts or parts and labor. but i've seen so many members here saying only a sw update will do the job. is my dealer trying to play games? mine is 4/04. thank you very much !

My dealer charged me an additional $200 to get it working I was upgrading to 16.1 at the time...I was lead to believe that this was simply a labor/software charge and no "parts" were needed...

thanks for the quick response, ch7656 . if that's the case, i won't pay them a penny . you can simply tell me activating bluetooth needs another hour or two and have to charge me on that. i understand. but don't tell me you have to rewire that kind of bs . i told the sa my friends have their cars done without rewiring anything. he said he's going to check on that again. i'm still waiting for his call. wish me luck .

ok, the sa just called and said $220 is for 2 hours labor, not parts. no parts or rewiring needed . i said i totally understand about the labor charge but i also told him that many people have it done for less than an hour. he said he just based on what the technician told him. i'm calling my sales advisor now and see what he can do for me.

just spoke with the sales advisor and he told normally this is an 3 hours job but they are giving me a break and "only" charge me 2 hours. he said he can't help much since the service mgr that he used to deal with is not there anymore. he asked me to talk to the new service mgr myself. i left him a message and expecting his call back on monday. will see what's going on.

Glad they came back with no wiring as that is what this bulletin claims as well. The procedure for "retrofit" of "Tel Bluetooth" should not take that long but there is no time listed.
