is bluetooth possible in my e60?
I have an '04 BMW 525i 09/03 production last seven of VIN: B173342 is it possible to install bluetooth in my car?
I could of sworn I read some posts a while back that someone successfully installed bluetooth by changing the right TCU on a 09/03 production E60.
I'm sure I will have to change the TCU and reprogram the i-drive software.
Can someone give me part numbers?
Thanks!

David,
If your car was built in 3/04 or later it has the proper TCU. All you have to do is have the dealer install the software, which is easier said than done. Some dealers will tell you your 04 is not capable without a new TCU even if it was built in 3/04 or later. Don't listen to them. Refer them to SIB (service info bulletin) # SIB841304. It may cost you a few dollars (cost me $300) depending on your dealer. If you have the software installed, you need to go to your communications settings on your main menu and make sure the "bluetooth" option is checked. If you don't see "bluetooth" anywhere on the communications menu, the software is not installed. Go to the "inofrmation" page on this site and read the phone instruction manual. It is very helpful. Had it not been for this site, I would have let my dealer tell me there is no way for me to have bluetooth without buying a new TCU. Good luck.

How do I get hold of a copy of the SIB841304 document.
I was told by my dealer that I had to install a BT unit and all the wiring. 3000 Euro!
