Just received this email from BMWNA today, I had hoped it would come standard. I think the kits are going to go for about another $700 from what I hear.
Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the availability of Bluetooth technology for you 2005 545i. I am happy to confirm that beginning with the 2005 model year, Bluetooth compatibility will be available for all models, except the 7 Series which retains its standard hands-free portable cellular phone. Please be aware that the accessory "Bluetooth Universal Hands-Free Kit" would still need to be purchased and installed by your authorized BMW retailer. If you need information regarding pricing and availability, please contact your sales advisor or the Parts department.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please respond to this e-mail or contact us @ 800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9am - 9pm, Eastern Standard Time.
Sincerely,
Casey Roach

That is great news. I just hope that is not just another rumored date that never gets here. I really need this feature!

I just saw over on the bimmerfest forums that it came standard in an '05 330. Sounds like it should in the '05 5er then....

I hope that you are right and BMWNA is wrong.
