If your car was buildt after April / 04 then it should be BT capable, Mine is a May / 04 buildt and i had a software upgrade with BT activation and it works perfect

Rich, My car was built in 05/2004. I called the dealer today and they knew nothing of a SW upgrade. Is there something specific i should be asking for?

Thanks Again
Sean

Sean i went to my dealer and asked them to activate the Bluetooth option on my car and they told me that i needed a software upgrade for that. That's how i got my BT to work.

Is there another dealer in your area that you could go to ? where are you located ?

I did mine but had to bring in the printed update record (sorry forgot what these were called..CIP,SID,SOMETHING?). Once they took that record (which has a number assigned to it), they did the software update. Works prefectly now.....but your car has to be made after 4/4 date.

best of luck

I took delivery on my car in early April of 2004. I use my Bluetooth every day! I think the build date cutoff is eary March (Rudy?) unless you get a new CPU. I did need to have it activated later (didn't work when I first got the car but with one of my many Software updates it now works).

Welcome to E60 Forums odonns,

Please post your location in your personal data and the specifics of your car. It makes replying to geogrpahically specific options easier.

If you are in North America and your car was produced after March 8/04, you should be BT ready with the appropriate hardware (TCU) alredy installed. You will require a software update and to have BT activated by your dealer. ALthough you car came with the necessary hardware, the software for BT is likely not activated. You will have to pay for the activation of the BT but not for the software update if the update is eprformed to correct problems with the vehicle..
