Hi Guys,

My dealer just installed the blue tooth package in my 545i this week and I paired my phone(motorola v551) with the bmw system without difficulty. All my phone numbers transfered to the BMW system perfectly. However, during calls I can hear the person I on with fine but they can't hear me... Any suggestions?

Thanks

What is your build date? You may have a pre March04 production car which has a TCU that does not support BT. if not then get them to replace your TCU under warranty.

You can verify your build date on the inside drivers door jam plate, but if you're correct your TCU is indeed the problem. You'll need part number 84 11 6 956 688 or later (read larger number). Good luck!

My BMW Service Rep told me the TCU isn't covered under the warrranty.
What can I do to pursued them to cover the replacement that apparently cost $1200?

Unfortunately there is little you can do. A couple of us got lucky when the TCU wouldn't take a software upgrade - but it's just dumb luck if it happens. You need the thing to fail (without showing those screwdriver marks) .
