I just picked up the new Cingular Pearl 8100 today and paired it up with my '05 525i. I'm proud to say that everything works including the signal strength indicator, address book transfer (Outlook contacts and SIM contacts), and the phone pairs with the car instantly when I turn on the car. From what I've gathered so far, sound quality is better than my old v3 razr through Cingular (according to the callers on the other end).

All in all, I'm very pleased with this phone. I had several issues with my old Treo 650 (Palm) and my Samsung Blackjack (Windows) and so far no problems with the Pearl.

Yes, just about everything works on the Pearl with my '05 545i. The only feature I could not get to work is the GPS feature on the Pearl to communicate via bluetooth with the car. Any ideas?

Good luck getting GPS features on your idrive FROM your phone. I've never heard of anyone able to do this (regardless of phone). Heck, I'd like to be able to see my emails and internet browser on the idrive screen but it's just not gonna happen.
