After trying numerous phones , typically nokia such as N 95 and N 96 I have at last found a phone that works with the bluetooth system perfectly. No drop outs, loads the contact list etc brilliant. Does anyboby know if BMW intended to sell a cradle for this phone.

you can try the cradle for the curve, but I'm not sure if it will work. I am using the Pearl cradle for the flip (8220) and it works fine. it's not a 100% fit but it charges and holds the phone in place pretty well.

It doesn't work, I've got the 8900 and tried the 8300 adaptor (phone doesn't fit, which is strange as all other accessories for my 8300 fit!)

Fingers crossed for an adaptor soon.

P.S - if anyone is looking for an 8300 snap in adaptor then pm me

The item displayed looks to be for an e90 not an e60/e61. The fixture console in the e60/e61 is different to the e90 etc. The text at the bottom of the page states the adapter shown is not compatible with e60/e61.

Maybe an adapter will be released for the e60/e61 soon; my local dealer, whom is updated monthly by BMW on all accessories, has no clue as to what is coming and they have no part number for a Blackberry 8900 e60/e61 variant ? it seems dealers have no forward vision until the product is ready to be shipped from the factory (apparently over promising in the past of availability caused problems hence BMW only inform when they?re ready to ship parts) - suggest keep checking with dealers, also the BMW web-site; however here already there is a discrepancy whereby the German site does not list the Blackberry 9000 (bold) as available at all in its pdf bluetooth document let alone for an e60, however the UK site does (I have the part number hence it exists) ? the left and right hand conundrum of not knowing each other exists is working here eh!

I just ordered the 8900 curve adapter from my dealership. I will get it on monday. But here is the part number 84.21.2.157.558. This is the one for the e60 as the parts department manager confirmed this for me.

keep us posted when it arrives, I'm itching to order it but want to make sure. Meanwhile, I've got an 8300 cradle for sale.

you're still using BT with the cradle, the only real advantage is neatness. All the cradle does is charge the phone and hold it in place. You don't need a cig. lighter car charger for your phone anymore, and it gives you the perfect spot to put it. The *ONLY* thing I miss from my pre-nav days is that little cubby hole below the radio, because that's where my phone used to go. the cradle gives me a perfect place to put it.

In theory, there's also an antenna loop to "boost" the cell signal, but not convinced that works all that well.
