I'm picking up my '07 550i this Friday and wondered what the experience has been with Verizon phones and the BMW Bluetooth system. I have a Motorola V710 which, according to BMW, is not fully compatible. I want to be able to download the phone register easily and have easy linking (including using a snap in adapter) and would appreciate some input from Verizon users before I pick a new phone.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Some have issues with its durability but the Motorola Razr works great and the cradle is readily available.
I work in sales and use the phone about 2 hours a day. It's been about 60 days since I picked it up and so far so good (as it relates to durability)

Thanks for the response. Which model of the Razr do you have. I've read that the compatiblity of the "m" and "c" models are different.

V3M, I believe it's the only version that Verizon currently offers.

Here's a link of compatible verizon phones that was provided to me by member wnrussell. http://dts.vzw.com/how_to_use/bluetooth_car_kit.html

As many have stated, the Motorola phones (RAZR & K1m) are known to work flawlessly w/ the BMW Assist Bluetooth system. I recently got a LG VX8600 and no problems with pairing and phonebook transfer. I read several reports of Samsung users having problems with phonebook. Good luck on whatever you decide on.

I have a Samsung a930....with a camera that now has a pic on my car on my banner
The RAZR is allegedly compatible, too.....
I upgraded my Samsung a650 to a a870 that had Bluetooth but wasn't compatible. I went back to Verizon and they helped me find a compatible phone.
My husband's Treo 650 also quickly paired with my car and he's on Verizon, too

Paired my phone with a Verizon Moto Razr V3m (with latest software version) and had no problems. Phonebook dowloaded quickly and accurately and the reception (without a clip on adapter) is pretty good. In fact it is better than the Bluetooth performance of my recently turned in Lexus LS 430.

The V3M is proving itself to be durable, reliable, and a fine communication device.

I have the verizon razr as well and it works perfect! Never had an issue since day 1 of owning the car. My blackberry doesn't work as well, so I only stick to using my razr when in the car.
