But Sony phones are so-far, the most compatible with BMW.? All features work, and they offer snap-in adapters.

BTW, how's the sound quality for you RAZR fans?

[/quote]I have a RAZR. BTW it is essentially the same phone as the V551 only in a different shell. Sound quality varies from call to call. Sometimes its great and sometimes the other party complains of echo. I am hoping a CIP upgrade will solve this problem.

I tried to pair my wife's Moto 710 and it continuously disconnects. What version of software do you have on the 710? And, any other tips for pairing the phone up. From my experience, Verizon is clueless about bluetooth as evidenced by the fact they have only one option.

Couple of days ago, I was seriously considering buying the Motorola Razr V3 after being very disappointed that my SE P910i is not compatible. While my 2 other phones (Siemens S65 & SE T630) do work well, they are lacking in features found in the P910i.
The technical specs for the V3 however held me back, esp its 5MB internal memory, it seemed so little compared to the 64MB internal and 1GB external memory on my P910i.
I am still searching for that perfect phone............

My Ride: 2005 545i 6-speed manual, Grey Metallic
Tested a few phones that I have.
Motorola A1000 Does NOT work.
My Motorola A1000 (which I had unlocked to use in the US) was seen and registered by the 545 but would not work. This is a great phone which I use in Italy on a 3G network and was happy with it in the US on their 2G networks. Very disappointing as it has the handsfree protocol proported to be necessary for use with the BMW.
Motorola A835 3G works but doesn't tranfer the phonebook automatically. It is locked and it is a brick not worth unlocking for use in the US.
My old T68 Ericsson worked and transfered the phone book. It is unlocked but can't take advantage of Edge used by Cingular in the US.
I bought a Motorola V551 (as it is one of the phones recommended by BMW in the US) for 149 US and a 50 US rebate. Works wonderfully with the BMW. transferred phone book automatically (500 names). I suspect battery life will be a problem from what I have read however.
