I paired my phone to the car's bluetooth, when bluetooth is turned no, I can answer calls via BT no problem. I can go into iDrive and look for my phone book without a problem either.
But, everytime I press the voice activation button on the steering wheel. I said the command "Dial Name", and it will tell me "phone book is empty".
Help please.

The voice activated phone book is completely separate to your phone - you need to record the VA phonebook into the system (names and numbers) while you are sitting in the car - it can then be used with any phone paired to bluetooth. Read your instruction manual for details.

wow, I didn't know that.
That's quite inefficient isn't it?
Even the cheapest phone out there in the market today has voice recognition for bluetooth
