Audio over Bluetooth
I have a 2004 545i with a 2006 blue tooth capable TCU, can I enable blue tooth audio or do I have to make major modifications?
I have the old CCC unit, not CIC.
And how is the sound quality for audio over bluetooth?
Thanks folks.

Major modifications required unfortunately. In late 2010 BMW started offering the combox which is required to play audio over bluetooth. I have it in my M3 but frankly never use it. Quality is OK but I found it much easier to simply have a dedicated iPod that I leave in the center console...

I have the Blue Trip and it doesnt sound as good as using the AUX jack or disc. You get less bass and the quality isnt as high. Its an option if you want to use BT for audio.

search Denison Gateway on here & I think you will like the results.
Many do that mod to upgrade Audio capabilities as a lower cost alternative to a full on CIC + Combox upgrade (which if you have an extra $3K laying around I strongly suggest!)

I think i got my answer. I have a 2010 E60 /w NAV idrive. I am able to connect my iphone 4 to bluetooth to talk and answer the phone. But not able to use streaming. Im guessing this is a hardware update. But wonder since i can talk i can strem music. I assumed it was a software update.
Good idea for dedicated iPhone, but would have to look up option to get it fitted. What i really want is to be able to see music Art. I know there option to update the entire CIC but i will lose my BMW assist and it not cheap also. Wish there was a easier way??????
