Audio Mute Problem

Hi All,
I posted a few months ago asking for advice about an audio mute problem.
The Symptoms
Audio stuck on mute after making a call. Soft re-boot did nothing to solve problem
The BMW Dealer Advice
After running 'extensive' diagnostics they concluded that I needed to replace the entire TCU at a 'discounted' cost of c?700
Other options tried
Forcing Re-boot - Disconnecting battery etc etc. None of which worked
The solution- eventually
I took the car to a local specialist non-dealer shop.
They switched my TCU into another 530D and put the other cars in mine. Both units worked fine. Then they switched them back.
Problem solved.
Cost ?50 for an hours labour.
The Moral of the story?
Don't trust dealers?

Definitely will take this into consideration when they tell me at the dealer something is wrong with the car. Thanks man.
